PHOTOGRAPHIC GUIDELINES

We welcome photo submissions from all over the region! Following is a list of our upcoming photo needs through 2007. Following are notes on submissions and coverage area. Below is a look ahead to our next five issues. We're looking for feature photography and cover images, and we're connecting covers to the stories inside the magazine, so we're not just looking for general mountain scenics. We're looking for scenes with and without people, for outdoor recreation from soft to extreme.
We can especially use more images from Kentucky, South Carolina and Alabama as well as our other coverage states:
Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina.

Click HERE for a full editorial calendar.

For each issue's travel destinations and weekend getaways, we are looking for scenics, town shots, people, outdoor recreation, historical attractions, etc. - all should be shot within the season they are to appear (green, autumn, winter).

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Blue Ridge Country buys one-time North American rights, with said rights including use of photos on company promotional materials and on its website. We require a one-year exclusivity on any image appearing on BRC covers before it is submitted elsewhere. We do not acknowledge as binding the terms of individual photographers' submittal forms. BRC pays upon publication.

Submissions may be slides, medium or large format transparencies or high or low-res digital - submit on disk or via e mail as .jpgs, .tiffs or in .pdf files, or contact us if you wish to use ftp. High-resolution digital should be submitted as raw .tiff files. We rarely are able to use print film photos in photo essay. Please include caption info with your submissions and contact sheets with any digital submissions.

Please include cutlines or identifying information for all photos - especially specific geography (where/when was a photo shot). Any full-facial photos of people must have releases or permission.
