Comong from the Ohio side of the Appalachians (yes, we havethem to to) I read with great interest about the article "Is Nascar Losing its Roots." We love Nascar and enjoy it very much. Yes it could be losing its roots or maybe its just growing a bigger fan base so more people can enjoy what the rest of us have for years. When and if they start closing the southern race tracks then you know the are leaving, which I believe will lead to the eventual demise of Nascar as we know it. They only problem I have with Nascar is that so many of the Nascar items, shirts, hats, etc., are made in China and such. Wouldn't it be great if such an American sport which is supported by local people, would want there fan items to be made locally. What a great idea to help "our economy" - S Burdette
